19.08.2018 - A top ten finish, at the end of a weekend that turned out to be tougher than expected, is I.S.R. racing's haul of the fifth round of the ADAC GT Masters 2018 that has just ended at the circuit of Zandvoort (NL).

The Czech outfit, pushed by the maiden win scored at Nürburgring, made it onto the track ready to confirm its performance on the n.33 Audi R8 LMS driven by the official pairing made by Filip Salaquarda (CZ) and Frank Stippler (GER). The two drivers managed to adapt the setup of the German car since free practice in a way to minimize the impact of the 30kg handicap weight on board due to the win in the previous round.

Things got more complicated in Q1 on Saturday morning when Salaquarda, despite being happy with the feeling on the track, did not manage to complete a quick lap due to the several red flags that broke the rhythm and ended the session with a lap time that relegated him to the back of the grid. Race one had very few twists and the team decided to retire the car in the final laps due to the debris on track in order to avoid punctures and damages that could ruin the outcome of race two.

I.S.R. racing's grit was clear on Sunday morning in Q2, when Stippler displayed his good shape posting a positive 1'36.396s that earned him the ninth place on the starting grid. Stippler and Salaquarda managed the car through their respective stints in the race, eying points. They accomplished that recovering a position and crossing the finish line in P8 overall.

Igor Salaquarda (I.S.R. racing, Team Principal):
"Things did not go according to plan and we are sorry for under-performing especially in race one. The whole team did not give up though and their great job allowed Franz and Filip to unleash all their potential ending race two into the points once more".

I.S.R. racing will get back on track for the penultimate round of the ADAC GT Masters 2018 at Sachsenring (GER) next September 7th-9th.
