09.09.2018 - Team I.S.R. Racing pulled a result below expectations this weekend at Sachsenring (GER) at the penultimate round of ADAC GT Masters 2018.

Following the remarkable and constant improvement shown throughout the first complete season in the exciting German series for GT cars, the Czech outfit got to the circuit near Dresden resolute to continue the string of positive results with the n.33 Audi R8 LMS driven by Filip Salaquarda (CZ) and Frank Stippler (GER).

The work on the short but technical 3.645 meters long circuit started on the right foot and I.S.R. Racing's drivers that managed to adjust the setup to their driving style in the practice sessions on Friday. Salaquarda posted a 1'19.627s in a very tight Q1, that was the 20th time despite being only 0.7s off the pole position time.

Race one ended again too early for I.S.R. Racing, as Salaquarda had to retire in the opening stages due to puncture following a contact with the n.82 Lamborghini Huracàn driven by Rolf Ineichen.

The desire to bounce back was high in Q2 on Sunday morning. Frank Stippler showed again all his value and posted a 1'18.835s that allowed the n.33 car to qualify in 10th place.

Started from the fifth row of the grid, the German driver wisely avoided contacts in the initial stages that ended up in a red flag, but he was later on handed a 5s time penalty for incorrect positioning on the starting grid. A safety car deployment when I.S.R. Racing's pairing was in the pits, made any recovery quite difficult and Salaquarda crossed the finish line in P20.

Igor Salaquarda (I.S.R. racing, Team Principal):
"This was not the weekend we expected, a lot of episodes worked against us and did not allow Filip and Frank to show their true potential. On paper, we could bounce back in race two, but the events in this eventful race did not allow us to complete a comeback and the final result is below expectations. We will try and leave this race behind to focus on the closer of Hockenheim aiming to end the season on a high".

I.S.R. Racing will be back on track for the closing race of ADAC GT Masters from September 21st to 23rd at Hockenheimring (GER).
